Opening Teaser
April brought a mixed bag of conditions on the San Juan. With the high snow pack and warmer temperatures, lots of cold water found its way into Navajo Lake. The colder temps coming from the bottom of the dam have delayed the dry fly fishing and the fish have seemed to be more on the sluggish side. With that being said, quality fish have been getting boated but the numbers many of you experienced last spring aren’t here yet. May will see an increase of flow from the dam and we will have high water peaking at 5000 CFS May 30. We are all looking forward to the higher flows end of May and the return to normal coming early June.
